| Early influences |
| Since childhood he had a great attraction towards the art of singing. Listening to all popular legends like, P. B. Shreenivas, Ghantasaala, Janaki etc gave him immense pleasure. He also enjoyed singing all popular lyrics; devotional songs that he picked up intuitively from his fast grasping abilities. But undoubtedly the major influence on his music life was from the two major maestros Dr. K. J. Yesudas and Dr. Balamuralikrishna. After a while with the deep intention to pick up this art form of singing he started learning music under “Vid. Gopalakrishna Iyer” and later continued his studies in “Iyenar college of music, Bangalore.” |

| Kote completed his schooling and college in Dakshina Kannada. He completed his Masters in English literature from “Mangala Gangothri”, The Mangalore University. He served the education field as a lecturer of English for three years, but the music pulled him with profound gravity towards Bangalore. |

| Kote – the rising star |
| Apart from singing he is also popular as a television artiste. He has anchored various shows on television and has been acting in many TV serials. He shows keen interest in Yakshagana (the popular folk form of Karnataka.) and an expert chess player as well. |

| He is married to Seetha Kote, who is a well-known and talented danseuse and practicing Bharathanatyam. They are blessed with one son Saagar Kote. |
